Annual Golf Day 8 July 2009

Golf DayThe 13th annual competition for the Zambia Society Trust Charity Cup will take place on Wednesday, 8 July at the Mid-Sussex Golf Club, Ditchling, organised by ZST President Frank McGovern. There are still vacancies for players (individuals or teams of four). It costs £45 a head to play, including lunch. Sponsors are also needed; companies pay £300 per hole, individuals £100. Over the previous twelve years since this annual event began, Frank has raised over £60,000 for the Trust - every penny of which has gone to support orphans projects in Zambia. Footballs and Netballs Appeal 2009

New footballsCan you help Zambian schoolchildren experience the joy of sport by providing a Zambian school with footballs and netballs? Every year the Trust supplies fifty secondary schools and the 2009 appeal has just been launched.

Antarctic Ice Marathon 13 December 2008

David NichollsDavid Nicholls, a ZST member who worked in Zambia for two years, ran the gruelling Ice Marathon in Antarctica on 13 December 2008 for two of the Zambia Society Trust's AIDS orphans projects, one a feeding initiative and the other educational.

Annual General Meeting 4 December 2008

Zambia High CommissionThis year's Annual General Meeting took place on Thursday 4th December at 12.30 pm at the Zambia High Commission in London. It was followed by a buffet lunch and a talk by Mr Alistair Harrison, recently returned British High Commissioner to Zambia.

40th Anniversary Membership Campaign

Boys from ChaindaThe Zambia Society, from which the Zambia Society Trust developed, was founded in 1968 as a friendship group for people who had lived and worked in Northern Rhodesia or Zambia. To mark this 40th anniversary we have launched a campaign to increase membership. It costs £30 a year and includes monthly and quarterly newsletters, but most of the subscription goes to support projects in Zambia.
