Fund Raising Reception 9 July 2009

The Zambia High Commission and Zambia Society Trust hosted a reception in London to launch a fund raising campaign to support the work of the Trust in Zambia. The reception was attended by HE Anderson Chibwa, Zambia High Commissioner and the Hon Felix Mutati, Minister of Commerce, Trade and Industry, Government of Zambia, our guest of honour. Representatives from corporate organisations with business interests in Zambia were present as well as the ZST President, Chairman and Members. Our plans for the future which require an additional funding of £50,000 to £70,000 per annum were outlined in a PowerPoint presentation, which can be downloaded here.

Annual Golf Day 8 July 2009

The 13th annual competition for the Zambia Society Trust Charity Cup took place on Wednesday, 8 July at the Mid-Sussex Golf Club, Ditchling, organised by ZST President Frank McGovern - another very successful day. His Excellency Anderson K Chibwa visited the event during the morning, and the prizes were presented by Tara McGovern. Over the previous twelve years since this annual event began, Frank has raised over £60,000 for the Trust - every penny of which has gone to support orphans' projects in Zambia.
