President Levy Mwanasa, 1948 - 2008
The Zambia Society Trust notes with great sadness the death of His Excellency President Levy Patrick Mwanawasa, SC on Tuesday 19 August 2008. The state funeral will take place on Wednesday 3 September which would have been his 60th birthday. A detailed programme of the arrangements can be downloaded by clicking the link below. The Minister of Justice, Hon. George Kunda, SC, MP, has prepared a statement on the constitutional and legal implications of the President's death which can also be downloaded here. Treasurer Needed
The Zambia Society Trust is looking for a new Treasurer. This is a voluntary unpaid position, suitable for a person with a background in accountancy, banking or bookkeeping. Did you enjoy life in Zambia and are anxious to use your skills to assist many in need there, especially some of the million orphans, most of whom are not HIV-infected, despite their parents dying of the disease? Annual Golf Day 16 July 2008
His Excellency the Zambia High Commissioner, Mr Anderson K Chibwa, addressed players and supporters at the ever-popular ZST Annual Golf Day on 16 July at the Mid-Sussex Golf Club, Ditchling, before presenting the prizes.

London Marathon 13 April 2008 - Ann did it!
ZST member Ann Leslie completed the Flora London Marathon on April 13 in five hours ten minutes, raising nearly £3000 in aid of the Zambia Society Trust. Ann grew up in Zambia but now lives in Reading and works in Henley on Thames as a science teacher.

Footballs and Netballs Appeal 2008
